the inspiration for this delightful shape comes
from a 16th century Delft soapdish.
the bottom and wall are left untrimmed.
I simply cut the bowl from the wheel and
later attached the lug.
it has been fired on fireclay stilts to allow for
the bottom to be glazed as well, this also
caused the slight distortion of the rim,
an effect that blends in harmoniously
with the overall shape
